Who We Are:

We are a non-profit group providing support and information for persons in The Bahamas living with lupus. We were officially started in 2012. Our goals include increasing awareness in The Bahamas and supporting global research efforts to find a cure for lupus.

Mission:

Our Mission is to reveal the secrets of this chronic disease that has touched so many in our nation, by finding and sharing information and providing support to those suffering from lupus, their families and friends.

Vision:

Our Vision is to spread the word in The Bahamas through meetings, events, community outreach, newsletters, articles, paraphernalia and fundraising activities, creating awareness and contributing to the cure.

About Lupus

Lupus is a chronic, autoimmune disease affects an estimated 5.5 million persons worldwide. Studies show that lupus is caused by several factors including genetics, environment and hormonal imbalances in the body. Lupus is often hard to diagnose with symptoms ranging from severe pain, fatigue and unexplained flare-ups impacting random parts of the body especially internal organs. There is no known cause for the disease and presently, statistics on the number of persons in The Bahamas living with lupus are limited.
